A Tribute to Tradition

Can we stay without air, water, sunlight?  NO. These are the base of our very own existences. Likewise, our culture, custom, tradition is the root of our life.  Our ancient old methods called "Sampradaya" which was followed by our ancestors and our parents religiously. The simple basic of life, which our generation failing to follow and ending up in facing problems, which affecting their lifestyles, relationship, health etc in a very bad manner.

Our ancestors and parents used to get up before sunrise and start the daily routine with so much ease and enthusiasm. Cleaning outside the house and drawing beautiful Rangoli. Actually it has a greater meaning, it cleanses the night darkness with the positive morning. As mentioned in one of the famous Upanishads'Kathopanishad',a beautiful conversation with Yama and Nachiketa. when we go to sleep at night the body goes in to Nidra  avastha it becomes like a dead body, once you get awareness and wakeup in the morning it's like a rebirth. In olden days there was no coat system like how we have in our bedrooms, they used to sleep on the ground on mats and thin mattress which was folded and kept, as soon as they get up. Ladies used take bath before entering the kitchen, and men before going out of the house.

In those days use of metals in day to day life had a great impact on body-mind and health. It is now the well-established fact that there is a life energy in everything we come in contact with. When we keep food or water in any metallic container, it tends to absorb the qualities of the metal. Also to have freshly cooked food. Food cooked and kept for more than 3 hours is not suitable to eat. It looses all its nutrition and satvik properties of the food and become tamsik which have a very bad impact on mind and body.

Also in olden days, Ayurveda was the way of healthy living and it's principles follow the law of nature. To respect the nature and the power of healing. The therapies which heal through the natural way, earth, air, water, fire, sound, touch, smell, taste, various variety of herbs, minerals. Preparation and dispensing of medicines were done in a very holistic manner. By chanting mantras, mediation, by which the medicinal properties get more of positive vibration.

In Indian tradition, we have a practice of worshipping "Tulsi".  Which is been followed for thousands of years. Most of the festival include worship of trees like - Neem, Peepul, Banyan, as well as herbs like Tulsi. In Sanskrit, they say - that which is incomparable in its qualities is Tulsi... In fact, it is known to be the only plant which once used in worship can be washed and reused in Pooja. As it is self -purifying.

Also, ecology plays an important role. Leaves of coconut tree help us to create an eco–friendly atmosphere. They say eating on a banana leaf with a spoon or fork is very difficult. Hence a meal eaten with our hands using fingers, with folded legs, and back straight. Very good for digestion, and it has a lot of health benefits.

Lastly, performing "Agnihotra", which I follow at my house. It's a unique process of purification of the atmosphere/air in the house. I do it in rainy and winter season. Since the weather will be moist and kids tend to fall sick often. It keeps the air free from bacteria. The process is done in a copper havan kund which we use it for performing sacred yajna, by using cow dung cake, ghee, Carmon seeds, cardamon, camphor and lite the fire. With its smoke, it purifies the air, destroys all the bacteria. And also resist mosquitoes coming in the house and very good for plants too.

If we try to inculcate ancient methods in our day to day life, we can stay healthy and happy. Today's generation has no clue about all this. Kids busy with Ipad, and television and eating junk foods.  As parents, it's our responsibility to give our kids a rich knowledge of our ancient methodology, custom and traditional values. So that they lead a life in harmony.

I strongly believe in all his and have inculcated the same to my 5-year-old son, who is very much spiritual, an early raiser - from the time he has born. Loves doing pooja and chant mantras and verses from Bhagavad Gita. He enjoys decorating the house on all festivals and help me in cleaning my Pooja room and decorating and arranging god's. Extremely particular about things around him. A very good player, he loves cricket and football. An amazing artist. There is a lot to say about him 😇😍

Let's make an effort to give our coming generation a good clean healthy life and make our life more meaningful.

The Rough Book

Recently I came across very beautiful lines, it just touched me so much, thought of writing about it.

"In a school bag, the Rough Book will have the worst condition because it bears the load and responsibilities of all other subjects.

Only because of the presence of Rough Book
Fair Books of all subjects are found very neat and tidy, well maintained and decorated.

==================================

In our family who takes the load of the entire house, like say from morning till night on their toes. For me, it's my mom. From childhood,d I am seeing my mom working 20 hours a day nonstop tirelessly with a smile twinkling on her face always. Her day starts at early morning at 4.30 am, cooking, cleaning, making us ready, she was a teacher later became a professor. Working for 8 hours a day, return back from school make us fresh and give us evening snacks, again she used to sit for tuition. Even after so many years, her routine is the same. Getting up early morning, cooking, after retiring too she takes tuition. Teaching is her passion. She forgets all her pain misery being with her students.

As I started growing up I used to see her and think whether I could able to do at least half of it. I used to ask her, mom how you do all this. U don't get tired. She used to just give a smile and say I am doing this for my kids and family with a lot of love, as you all are my world. How can one be so selfless, determined, never complaining?

In our family also have we ever thought of saying thank you or showing gratitude to that person who carries all our responsibilities, keep us first and keep themselves last. We all are busy. Never bothered to know about them. Because of the presence of one rough book, we all are enjoying at our convenience. Hats Off to this rough book.

Who is the rough book in your family? Have you ever acknowledged their presence? please do it before the rough book gets over?

With lots of gratitude, love, respect, thanking God for giving me this wonderful person in my life, with the blessing of becoming your daughter.  I will make sure you will not be a Rough book. You are our inspiration. Can't imagine our life without you.
Love you, Mumma. Thank you for everything.......

Naari - Celebrating Life

The very first thought - how do you define a woman? She is classy, emotional, loveable, responsible, Independent, caring, affectionate, worth, pretty, joyful, courageous, inspirational, the list never ends.

She plays a lot of roles:-

·         You can feel her INNOCENCE in the form of a daughter
·         You can feel her CARE in the form of a sister
·         You can feel her WARMTH in the form of a friend
·         You can feel her PASSION in the form of a beloved
·         You can feel her DEDICATION in the form of a wife
·         You can feel her DIVINITY in the form of a mother
·         You can feel her BLESSINGS in the form of a grandmother

You wanna keep your girl? Respect her, Love her, Care for her, make sure she knows how you feel about her. Never lie to her. Truly powerful women don’t explain why they want respect, they simply don’t get engaged with those who don’t give it to them.  The true beauty of a woman is reflected in her soul. A charming woman doesn’t follow the crowd, she is herself.. A woman looks at a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink…. Women not only love Diamonds, but they are strong like them 😍 Never ever mistake her silence sign of weakness, Remember that sometimes air stills, before the onset of a hurricane.

Strong women aren’t simply born, we are forged through the challenges of life. With each challenge, we grow mentally and emotionally. We move forward with our head high and the strength that cannot be denied. Be a woman who can be so strong so they can be gentle. So educated, so they can be humble. Be a girl with a mind, a women with an attitude a lady with class….

Every girl and every woman has the potential to make this world a better place, and that Potential lies in the act of thinking higher thoughts and feeling deeper things. When women n girls everywhere, began to see themselves as more than their inanimate objects, but as beautiful beings capable of deep feeling and high thoughts, this has the capacity to create change all around

“Live every day as a celebration. Thanking God for creating us. The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more in life to celebrate”…
